Honoring Our U.S. Army Heroes: The Memorial Monument Project
Who We Are
We are the Army Strong of Tallahassee Committee, a group of veterans and supporters dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who served in the U.S. Army. Our mission is to create a lasting memorial that commemorates the sacrifices of those who defended our freedom. This monument will be erected at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
What We’re Building
The U.S. Army Memorial Monument will be a life-sized bronze replica of the Battlefield Cross, an iconic symbol of honor and remembrance. Using Vietnam-era boots, helmet, dog tags, and an M16 rifle, the monument will be mounted on a three-foot-tall green granite pedestal, engraved with commemorative wording and the official U.S. Army seal.
This monument will be placed in the Memorial Walkway at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. It will serve as a tribute to the more than 83,000 veterans and their families in the surrounding area, ensuring their service is remembered for generations.
Where the Memorial Will Stand
The Tallahassee National Cemetery is a 250-acre site that was dedicated on May 22, 2015, to serve the burial needs of veterans in North Florida. The cemetery, located at 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL, provides a resting place for our nation’s heroes and a peaceful space for reflection.
